LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS

Vs. Bridgeport (10/29): The Monarchs extended their shutout streak to 125 minutes and 22 seconds as goaltender Mathieu Garon blanked the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, 5-0 at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday night. Left wing Chris Schmidt, center Michael Cammalleri, center Yanick Lehoux, left wing Ryan Flinn and right wing Tom Kostopoulos scored for the Monarchs. Garon stopped all 24 shots he faced, while Bridgeport goaltender Wade Dubielewicz made 22 saves. The Monarchs scored three power play goals on nine attempts and a short-handed goal on one of the Sound Tigers five power plays.

At Springfield (10/30): Center Michael Cammalleri recorded three assists as the Monarchs edged the Springfield Falcons, 4-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Springfield Civic Center. Center Yanick Lehoux tallied a power play goal and left wing Jeff Giuliano scored short-handed for the Monarchs. Left wing Noah Clarke and right wing Brad Smyth also lit the lamp for the Monarchs. Centers Ryan Craig and Nick Tarnasky scored for the Falcons. Monarchs goaltender Adam Hauser made 26 saves for his third victory of the year and Falcons goaltender Brian Eklund took his second loss, stopping 27 shots. The Monarchs were 1-6 on the power play and Springfield was 0-5.

At Portland (10/31): Goaltender Mathieu Garon and the Monarchs extended their undefeated streak to seven games as they shutout the Portland Pirates, 3-0, at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Sunday afternoon. Right wing Tom Kostopoulos and centers Michael Cammalleri and Yanick Lehoux recorded goals for the Monarchs. Garon made 31 saves and Pirates goaltender Maxime Ouellet stopped 22 shots. The Monarchs were 1-7 on the power play. The Pirates were 0-4.

MONARCHS TRANSACTIONS

11/01/04: The Manchester Monarchs (AHL) recalled right wing George Parros from the Reading Royals (ECHL) and loaned right wing Dan Welch to the Royals.

10/18/04: The Manchester Monarchs (AHL) loaned defenseman Beau Geisler, right wing George Parros and center David Steckel to the Reading Royals (ECHL) and released defenseman Colin Peters from his amateur tryout agreement.

Monarchs Practice Schedule

The Monarchs are scheduled to practice at the Tri-Town Ice Arena in Hooksett, New Hampshire on Tuesday, November 2 and Wednesday, November 3 at 10:00 a.m., before returning to the Verizon Wireless Arena for a 10:30 a.m. practice on Thursday, November 4 and a 10:00 a.m. practice on Friday, November 5. All practices at the Tri-Town Ice Arena are open to the public.

The undefeated Monarchs (7-0-0-0) return to action when they travel to Worcester to meet the Worcester IceCats (5-2-0-0) on Friday, November 5 at 7:05 p.m. Friday's game will be the third of three straight on the road for the Monarchs, who return to the Verizon Wireless Arena to meet the Albany River Rats on Saturday, November 6 at 7:35 p.m. Catch all of the play-by-play action with Ken Cail on the Monarchs Radio Network (WGIR-AM 610, Manchester; WGIN-AM 930, Rochester; WGIP-AM 1540, Exeter; WTSL-AM 1400, Lebanon) and at www.monarchshockey.com. The Monarchs have outscored their opponents 17-2 in their last four games.

The Monarchs have shutout their opponents in three of their last four games.

The Monarchs have yet to trail in a game this season.

The Monarchs are outscoring their opponents 11-1 in the first period and 13-2 in the second period this season.

The Monarchs have failed to score in the first period of only one of their first seven games this season. The Monarchs were held off the scoreboard in the first period of their game against the Portland Pirates on October 31.

The Monarchs, winners of seven straight games, can equal their franchise record for consecutive wins with a victory over the Worcester IceCats at the Worcester Centrum Centre on November 5. The Monarchs won eight straight games from October 19 through November 9, 2002.

The Monarchs can also equal their franchise record for consecutive road wins with a victory over the IceCats. The Monarchs, who have won four straight road contests, won five straight road games from October 12 through November 10, 2002.

The Monarchs needed 14 games to get their seventh victory last year.

Goaltender Mathieu Garon improved his overall record to 4-0-0 on the season with a 31-save shutout performance (3-0 win) against the Pirates on October 31 at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

The shutout was the second in a row for Garon, who also blanked the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (5-0 win) with 24 saves on October 29.

Including his two shutouts last weekend, Garon has 14 career shutouts in the American Hockey League.

Garon's AHL high for shutouts in a season is four, set with the Hamilton Bulldogs during the 2002-03 season.

Garon is unbeaten in his last 15 AHL decisions (13-0-2) dating back to the 2002-03 season.

Garon has allowed just five goals over his four starts for a goals -against average of 1.25, which ranks second in the league to Hartford's Jason LaBarbera, who has allowed just four goals in five games for a goals -against-average of 0.79.

Garon ranks second in the AHL with a save-percentage of .960. LaBarbera leads the league with a save-percentage of .971.

Center Yanick Lehoux leads the Monarchs with nine goals and is also more than half way to his pro high of 16 goals in a season, set with the Monarchs during the 2002-03 campaign.

Lehoux has scored a goal in each of his last four games.

Lehoux ranks third in the AHL in overall scoring with 14 points (9-5=14).

Right wing Brad Smyth leads the Monarchs with a seven-game scoring streak (4-5=9).

Left wing Noah Clarke, an AHL All-Rookie forward in 2004, has kicked off his second season with nine points and a leagueleading plus-10 rating. Right wing Tom Kostopoulos and defenseman Joe Rullier rank second in the league with plus-9 ratings.

Kostopoulos leads the Monarchs with six multi-point games.
