Grizzlies Drop A Pair To The Defending Champs

It was a tale of two games this past week for Utah who fell 1-0 in the ‘E' Center and 6-2 in the Bradley Center to the defending Calder Cup champion Milwaukee Admirals. In the 1-0 game, the only goal came on a defensive breakdown by Utah that led to Scottie Upshall's shorthanded goal, his first of the season. David LeNeveu made 21 saves allowing just the one goal but Brian Finley made 31 saves earning his first shutout of the season. On Saturday night, the Admirals grabbed a 5-0 lead midway through the game but Jeff Taffe tallied his first two goals of the season making the game interesting. A third period breakdown led to Milwaukee's sixth goal putting the game away for the champs.

Game Date Changed
~The Grizzlies game versus the Edmonton Road Runners originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 13 at the ‘E' Center has been changed to Tuesday, February 1 at the ‘E' Center. All tickets and parking passes printed for the Nov. 13 date will be honored at the game on Feb. 1. Call the Grizzlies ticket offices with any questions, (801) 988-PUCK (7825).

Naumenko Makes His Return To The Grizzlies
~Last week, the Grizzlies re-signed defenseman Nick Naumenko to a try-out, his third tour of duty with the Grizzlies. Last season, the Chicago native played in 46 games for Utah scoring five goals with 15 assists. So far in two games with Utah, Naumenko has not registered a point but has blasted 10 shots on goal and recorded four penalty minutes.

Manitoba Boasts Dangerous Duo:
~The Grizzlies will square off versus the Manitoba Moose this week in a pair of games that will be the final two games in the Winnipeg Arena, the Moose are moving into their new downtown arena on November 17 (the MTS Centre). There will be many former Winnipeg hockey greats in attendance for the two games. This season, the Moose are in first place in the North Division with a 7-4-0 record (0-2 at home). The pair of Jason King and Peter Sarno have combined for 34 points (16-18 –34) with King leading the AHL with 12 goals in just 11 games. The pair are 1-2 in the AHL scoring race.
