
Rivalry Games Continue for Admirals

NORFOLK, VA - After defeating the Phantoms and Penguins last week, the Admirals will look to continue their winning ways against their division rivals this week as they welcome Hershey and Philadelphia to Scope.
Norfolk began last week by defeating the Philadelphia Phantoms 2-1 on Friday night at the Spectrum on the strength of a 38-save performance by goaltender Karri Ramo. On Saturday night at Scope, Norfolk defeated the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 5-3 as Adam Henrich netted a goal and three assists.
The rivalries continue on Friday and Saturday nights at Scope. On Friday night, the Admirals host the Hershey Bears at 7:15. On Saturday night, the Admirals host the Philadelphia Phantoms at 7:15. Friday night, fans can win a slice of Hockey Heaven, presented by Southwest Airlines. See below for details.
EAST DIVISION STANDINGS
Norfolk (10-13-1-2, 23 points) sits in sixth place in the East Division, but is just five points out of a playoff spot and is seven points out of second place. The East is led by the Philadelphia Phantoms (17-7-1-0, 35 points). Albany (14-10-0-2, 30 points), Hershey (13-9-0-2, 28 points), Binghamton (12-9-3-1, 28 points) and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (12-12-0-0, 24 points) sit in Norfolk's sights. Bridgeport (9-12-1-0, 19 points) rounds out the division.

ADMIRALS RBK/AHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE
Norfolk forward Adam Henrich continues to impress after joining the Admirals on a Professional Tryout two weeks ago. Last week, he had an assist in Norfolk's 2-1 victory over the East Division-leading Phantoms. He followed that up with a four-point performance (1-3-4) in the Admirals' 5-3 victory over their East Division rivals, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Since joining Norfolk on November 28, Henrich has five goals and six assists in six games. Only Hartford's Nigel Dawes (6-8-14) has more points in the AHL in that time.
ADMIRALS' LOG
- The Admirals have won four straight and six of their last seven home games.
- Today, Tampa Bay re-assigned forward Zbynek Hrdel to the Admirals from the Mississippi Sea Wolves. Also today, the Admirals loaned forward Brett Angel to Mississippi and released forward Lance Monych from his Professional Tryout Contract.
- 2007 AHL All-Star Karri Ramo stopped 38 of 39 shots in earning his first victory as an Admiral on Friday night in Philadelphia. It was Ramo's second game back from an ankle injury that sidelined him for 21 games.
- Adam Henrich (5-6-11) and Norm Milley (2-4-6) are both on five-game point streaks dating back to November 30 in Albany.
- Karl Stewart (3-3-6) and Kyle Wanvig (1-4-5) are on four-game scoring streaks since December 1 at Binghamton.
- Sophomore forward Justin Keller has points in seven of his last nine games (4-6-10).
- Hershey's Joe Motzko has six goals and two assists in three games against Norfolk this season, including a hat trick on November 7 at Scope.
- Norfolk is the only team to have beaten Philadelphia twice this season.
- Of Blair Jones' six goals scored this season, four have come against Philadelphia - the most of any Admiral against the Phantoms this season.
- Kyle Wanvig (3-3-6) and Norm Milley (1-5-6) lead the Admirals in points in the five games played against the Phantoms so far this season.
