Peoria Rivermen News Release

The Peoria Rivermen were active on the charity front this weekend, collecting toys with its Third Annual Teddy Bear Toss and keeping children warm this winter on Coats for Kids Night.

Friday night the Rivermen and Firefighters Local 50 collected well over 300 bears and stuffed animals to be distributed to local charities this Christmas, helping to brighten a child's holiday season.

Saturday night the Rivermen collected approximately 400 coats in conjunction with the Salvation Army on Coats for Kids night. Salvation Army Divisional Community Relations Director Rich Draeger called the annual collection at Rivermen games "our single largest collection point" during the campaign.

If you still have items they wish to donate for the Christmas season, please contact Lisa Broadhurst, Rivermen director of community relations and game operations, at (309) 680-3762.
