
Sharks Skid Hits Five

Rewind the Tape:
12.07.07 - Worcester 3- Manchester 4 - Shootout - DCU Center
The Sharks had a season high 40 shots vs. the Monarchs but could not solve goaltender Danny Taylor in his first AHL game. Lukas Kaspar, Derek Joslin, and Patrick Traverse scored goals for the Sharks. It was the 2nd straight game the Sharks received two goals from their blue line. Thomas Greiss made 20 saves in net for the Sharks.
12.08.07 - Worcester 1 - Hartford 7 - DCU Center
The Sharks fell behind 4-0 just 6:15 into the second period as the Sharks winless skid hit a season high five games. The Sharks allowed four power play goals for the second time this season. Craig Valette scored his second goal of the season for the Sharks. Nigel Dawes recorded six points (2-4-6) for the Wolf Pack as Hartford defeated the Sharks for the 4th time this season. Taylor Dakers made 28 saves in net for the Sharks.

The Sharks (8-10-1-2) sit in 6th place in the Atlantic Division, 11 points behind the Pirates for 4th place in the division. The Sharks trail the Providence Bruins by 21 points for the top spot in the Atlantic.
Sharks Bites:
* F Mike Iggulden is tops on the team with 11 goals, 12 assists, and 22 points and leads the Sharks with 51 shots on goal.
* The Sharks have recorded 21 fighting majors in 21 games this season.
* F Tom Cavanagh leads the Sharks with 5 PPG's
* Rookie Defenseman Derek Joslin leads Sharks D-Men with nine points (2-7-9).
* D Brad Staubitz is 5th in the AHL with 90 penalty minutes.
* Rookie Nate Raduns leads the Sharks with two GWG's.
Roster Moves:
Mike Morris played his first professional game on Friday, December 7th after missing the first 19 games of the season due to injury and recorded an assist.
Thomas Plihal played his first game of the season on Friday, December 7th after being re-assigned by San Jose last week. Thomas recorded an assist.

*Worcester to host the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic!
American Hockey League President and CEO David Andrews announced that the Worcester Sharks and the city of Worcester have been awarded the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic. The event will take place at the DCU Center in January, 2009. The 2009 event in Worcester will mark the fourth time since it was revived in 1995 that the AHL All-Star Classic will take place in New England. The AHL All-Star Game was last held in Massachusetts in 1959 at the Eastern States Coliseum in West Springfield.
Coming Up:
The Sharks encounter their first "3 in 3" this weekend.
On Friday, the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins come to town at 7:05p.m. on "Karaoke Night." The Salter School of Massage Therapy will be offering free massages on the concourse during the game. The game will be televised live on Charter's Channel 3.
On Saturday, the Sharks host the Houston Aeros on "Design a Jersey Night." Kids 14 and under are encouraged to design a Shark's jersey during the game. One lucky fan will have their jersey made and then worn by the Sharks on March 16th. Sharks players will sign autographs as part of "Saturday Night Signings."
The weekend will conclude after the Sharks face the Monarchs in Manchester on Sunday at 4:05p.m.
