Portland Pirates News Release
After back to back wins this weekend, the Pirates look to continue success with two home games on Saturday and Sunday.
This Saturday is Hockey Night in Portland! The Pirates will be hosting the Springfield Falcons at 7:05 pm. Just in time for the Holidays - one lucky fan is going to win a diamond courtesy of Day's Jewelers. Fans can enter the contest in the lobby before the game begins. During the second intermission, one lucky fan's name will be drawn!
Can't make it to the game? Saturday's Pirates game will also be televised live on Time Warner Cable in Cumberland and York Counties on Time Warner Cable Channel 22 and in former Adelphia service areas wherever TW9 is available.
On Sunday, December 16 the Pirates play the Springfield Falcons at 4:05 pm. Fans will receive a free can of Pepsi on their way out of the arena after the game, courtesy of Pepsi Bottling Group. Tuesday, December 11
Shaw's Supermarket Appearance
Fans will have the opportunity to meet Pirates players Brendan Mikkelson and Mike McKenna at the Shaw's Supermarket at 91 Auburn Street in the Northgate Plaza, Portland from 3:30-4:30 p.m. The Pirates players will be signing autographs and giving fans a chance to enter to win Pirates tickets and other prizes. The Pirates players will be selling food bags as part of the Spirit of Giving food drive. Fans that purchase a food bag will receive a pair of tickets for the Pirates game on December 16th against the Springfield Falcons at 4:05 pm.
Wednesday, December 12
Dineens on WBLM
Pirates coaches Kevin and Gord Dineen will be on WBLM's morning show with the Captain and Celeste at 8:00 am.
Shipyard Appearance
On Wednesday, the Shipyard Brewing Company is hosting a meet and greet with Portland Pirates players Ryan Dingle and Matt Christie at the Hananford on Forest Ave. in Portland. The players will be at the event handing out Pirates tickets, signing autographs, and giving away Shipyard key chains, hats and t-shirts.
Meet Eric Weinrich at Maine Savings
On Wednesday, former UMaine Black Bear and current Pirates defenseman Eric Weinrich will be up in Bangor from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Maine Savings location at 671 Broadway in Bangor, ME. Weinrich will be signing autographs and giving fans a chance to enter to win Pirates tickets and other prizes.
Youth Hockey Appearance
Fans and youth hockey players from Bangor Youth Hockey will have the opportunity to meet Pirates defenseman Eric Weinrich at the Sawyer Rink at Hayford Park on 13th Street in Bangor, ME from 5-7 p.m. Weinrich will be signing autographs and giving fans a chance to enter to win Pirates tickets and other prizes.
Saturday, December 15
Portland Professional Hockey Boosters Blood Drive
Pirates forward Shane Hynes will be at the American Red Cross Blood Donor Center at 524 Forest Avenue in Portland Maine from 12-1 pm. Hynes will be handing out tickets and signing autographs to people who donate blood.
Tuesday, December 18
Alfond Arena

The Pirates hit the road to play a home game in Alfond Arena at the University of Maine in Orono, ME. This game is presented by Maine Savings. Visit the Maine Savings home page to order tickets to the game at a special discounted price. Tickets are on sale now for just $17.00. Tickets can be purchased by calling the UMaine Box Office at (207) 581-BEAR or 1-800-756-TEAM. The box office is open Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Fans can also purchase tickets and ride on a Pirates Fan Bus from Portland to Orono for $40.00 ($35.00 for Pirates Season Ticket Holders), and $23.00 for just the bus transportation. To purchase bus tickets, fans can call the Pirates office at (207) 828-4665 ext. 350 to make reservations.
