Falcons Recall Jonas Almtorp From Stockton

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that they have recalled forward Jonas Almtorp from their ECHL affiliate, the Stockton Thunder. Almtorp is expected to join the Falcons on Monday in preparation for their game on Tuesday night against the Binghamton Senators at the MassMutual Center starting at 7:00 pm.

Almtorp started the season with the Falcons playing in three games with Springfield not registering a point and two penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Uppsala, Sweden was reassigned to Stockton on October 16, 2007 where he collected five goals and five assists for 10 points and 20 penalty minutes in 22 games.

Almtorp is in his first season of professional hockey in North America and was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the fourth round (111th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

The Falcons return to action on Tuesday, December 11 when they host the Binghamton Senators at the MassMutual Center starting at 7:00 pm. Springfield is currently in third place in the Atlantic Division with a record of 14-9-1-3 through 27 games.
