Published on December 10, 2007 under American Hockey League (AHL) News Release
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League announced today that Hartford Wolf Pack left wing Nigel Dawes has been named the Rbk/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending December 9, 2007. Dawes recorded three goals and five assists for eight points in three games for the Wolf Pack last week.
After being held off the scoresheet in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout loss at Providence, Dawes scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in a 3-1 win over Lowell on Friday night. Then in Worcester on Saturday, Dawes set a Wolf Pack regular-season franchise record with six points, including two goals and four assists, to pace Hartford to a 7-1 victory over the Sharks.
In recognition of his achievement, Dawes will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Wolf Pack home game.
Dawes has lit up the American Hockey League since his return from the NHL on Nov. 20, and now has 24 points (nine goals, 15 assists) and a plus-8 rating in just 12 games with Hartford in 2007-08.
