Akron RubberDucks News Release

The Aeros made another roster move today as RHP Corey Kluber was acquired from the San Diego Padres organization and activated in Akron.

Kluber will start tonight at 7:00 p.m. against the Altoona Curve and joined the Indians organization in the July 31st three-team trade that sent Cleveland veteran RHP Jake Westbrook to the St. Louis Cardinals. A 24-year-old product of Stetson University, the 6'4" Kluber led the Double-A Texas League and ranked eighth in all of minor league baseball with 136 strikeouts upon the time of the trade. He was 6-6 with a 3.45 ERA for the San Antonio Missions, walking 40 along with a .259 batting average against in 122.2 innings pitched. He earned the promotion from Class A Lake Elsinore last July and has a 3.76 ERA in 31 career games (30 starts) for San Antonio. He was selected in the fourth round of the June 2007 Draft by the Padres.

The Aeros roster is now at the full 24 men + 1 on rehab assignment.

Kluber will wear #33 and will look to snap Akron's four-game losing streak tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Blair County Ballpark against the Altoona Curve. Additionally, RHP Anthony Reyes is currently without a number.
