d'Arnaud leads Curve to sweep

Altoona Curve News Release

CURVE, Pa. - A three-run bottom of the fourth inning capped by a Chase d'Arnaud single helped the Altoona Curve past the Akron Aeros, 4-3, in game one of a doubleheader at BCB on Tuesday night. The RBI single by d'Arnaud brought home Kris Watts for what would be the eventual winning run.

Altoona entered the fourth inning down, 3-1, to Akron despite scoring the first run of the game. The rally began when Jordy Mercer and Anthony Norman singled back-to-back with one down to put runners at first and second. After Norman was erased on a fielder's choice by Miles Durham, Watts drew a walk to load up the bases for Yung-Chi Chen.

Chen singled in both Mercer and Durham to tie the game at two and also moved Watts to third in the process to set the stage for d'Arnaud.

Justin Wilson (9-6) pitched well, tossing six innings while allowing three runs on six hits with four strikeouts. Michael Dubee pitched the final inning and did not allow a baserunner for his second save of the season.
