
Fisher Cats Blast Squirrels 9-0 Wednesday Afternoon

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
(Trenton, NJ)---Shawn Hill, Alan Farina and Trystan Magnuson combined on four-hit shutout and the Fisher Cats rolled to a 9-0 victory over Richmond before 5,422 at Merchantsauto.com Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Hill (1-0), in his first game since joining the Fisher Cats, allowed three singles in seven scoreless innings. Hill, with 40 games of Major League experience with the Expos, Nationals and Padres, was signed in the off-season by the Blue Jays. He walked two and struck out four in a dominating performance.
New Hampshire (66-45) had sixteen hits in the contest. Adam Loewen (1-for-4, 2 RBI) and Eric Thames (3-for-5, 2 RBI) drove in runs in the first inning to put the Fisher Cats up 2-0. Jonathan Diaz added an RBI single in the second inning to make it 3-0.
Concepcion Rodriguez (2-for-5) drove in two runs. His single in the fifth inning drove in Thames, who had singled. His sixth inning single, part of a five-run inning, again knocked in Thames. Adeiny Hechavarria (3-for-5) doubled in a run in the sixth, Loewen added an RBI triple, Thames knocked in a run with a single and Matt Liuzza drove in another with a base hit.
Richmond (53-57) starter and losing pitcher Felix Romero (3-2) worked only 1.2 innings before being lifted with an apparent injury.
The series with Richmond concludes on Thursday at 7:05pm. RHP Randy Boone (2-7, 3.95) is the scheduled starter for New Hampshire against Richmond RHP Mike MacDonald (3-7, 4.69). Live coverage of the game can be heard on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network at 6:45pm with Bob Lipman.
