Reno Aces News Release
El Paso, TX. - Christian Walker and the Aces homered past the El Paso Chihuahuas in game one of the four-game set Thursday night. With help from a five-hit performance from Juniel Querecuto, Reno defeated El Paso 8-2 to give Jake Buchanan his sixth win of the season and move the Aces to a record of 43-48. Yasmany Tomas, Kristopher Negron and Walker each hit home runs tonight at Southwest University Park. Buchanan went six strong innings and allowed one run on six hits while striking out five.
Reno jumped out to a five-run lead after three innings of play. Tomas got the Aces into the scoring column first, hitting his seventh home run of the season with a solo blast off El Paso starter Jerry Keel. Querecuto singled immediately after and Kristopher Negron drove him in with his ninth home run of the season. The reigning Pacific Coast League MVP used the long ball to his advantage in the top of the third. With a 1-0 count, Walker hit a towering home run over the left-field wall for his 11th homer of the year in an Aces uniform. The combination of Braden Shipley and Jake Barrett provided three innings of relief to finish the ballgame. Neftali Feliz will make the start for Greg Gross and the Aces tomorrow night. Feliz is making his third start of the season and enters with a record of 2-3.

Notes & Information
JQ's Five: Juniel Querecuto tied an Aces 2018 record tonight in El Paso with five hits in a single contest. The last Aces player to record five hits in a game was 2018 Pacific Coast League All-Star Socrates Brito on April 7th against the Fresno Grizzlies. Querecuto is batting .327 this season and has recorded 11 multi-hit games. His previous season-high came as a member of the Jackson Generals on April 29, 2018 (4-for-5, 2B).
Rare Loss for El Paso: The Chihuahuas have been on a tear as of late, winning 16 of their last 20 games. Tonight marks just the fourth game El Paso has lost since June 19th. Despite the loss, El Paso is four games up in the Pacific Southern Conference.
