Reno Aces Game Notes at El Paso
May 24, 2019 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Reno Aces News Release
Today's Game: The Aces look to avenge the 10-4 loss to El Paso in the series finale. Manager Chris Cron sends D-backs top prospect Jon Duplantier to the mound tonight looking for his first career Triple-A victory. Duplantier is 0-1 with a 3.55 ERA in six starts. Duplantier will rely on the hot bats of Domingo Leyba and Yasmany Tomas tonight. Tomas has homered in four consecutive games and has hit seven bombs since May 20.
Ship: Braden Shipley made his 48th career Aces start last night and his 82nd overall appearance. He is 22-17 overall with a 5.38 ERA in 332.2 innings of work. Last night, Shipley allowed five earned runs on eight hits in five innings of work. The former University of Nevada Wolf Pack baseball player had his eyes back in the 775. Nevada faced the number one seeded Fresno state in the first game Mountain West Championship Series last night. The Pack plated two in the ninth inning, but were unable to mount a complete comeback. They will face San Diego State today in game two of the series.
We're On TV: Aces General Manager made an appearance on NSN Daily today previewing the Memorial Day Weekend festivities at Greater Nevada Field. The Aces will play the Las Vegas Aviators in a four-game series from May 25 through May 28. Saturday is Greater Nevada Credit Union Member Appreciation Day. Sunday is Family Sunday featuring $1 menu. Monday is Military Monday and Tuesday is Taco Tuesday!
