ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (28-15-3-4), four-time Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2014 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, fell by a 3-2 score to the Alaska Aces (22-19-3-1) in front of a crowd of 7,489 on Friday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena.

Ontario opened the scoring in the first period when Matt White sent a pass to the right point for Matt Register, who unleashed a slap-shot that beat Troy Redmann for a power-play goal at 2:17.

Alaska answered at 19:11 when Corbin Baldwin broke up a clearing attempt by Ontario at the blueline and fired a wrist shot past Daniel Spence.

The Aces took a 2-1 lead in the second period while on the power-play, as Jacob Doty fed Colten Hayes at the blueline from behind the Reign net, and Hayes let his shot make its way through a screen and past Spence at 1:08.

The Reign knotted the score when Ralfs Freibergs redirected Nolan Julseth-White's shot into the net at 5:01.

Alaska again pulled ahead with the man advantage in the third period when Curt Gogol buried a feed from Hayes at 2:43. That tally would ultimately stand up as the game-winner for the Aces.

Spence took the loss with 27 saves; Redmann picked up the victory with 26 stops.
