QUICK REMATCH

A weekend home-and-home series between the Oilers and the Mallards that began last night at iWireless Center concludes tonight at the BOK Center in the fifth meeting of the season between the two clubs. Tulsa is 2-1-1 overall against Quad City and 1-1-0 on home ice. Three of the four previous battles have been decided by a single goal and the Mallards hold a narrow 11-9 edge in goals scored in the season series. Drew Fisher leads the Oilers with five points (2 goals, 3 assists) in four games against Quad City while Kevin Baker paces the Mallards with four points (1 goal, 3 assists) in four outings against Tulsa.

CLIPPING THE QUACKERS

Last night in Moline, Illinois, the Oilers snapped their three-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory over the Mallards. Rookie goalie Kevin Carr stopped 39 shots and helped preserve the triumph with a pair of key saves in the closing seconds of regulation. Drew Fisher scored a 5-on-3 power play goal in the first period and Brady Ramsay notched his first goal as an Oiler to help Tulsa end a four-game road skid.

STANDINGS SHUFFLE

The middle of the Central Division is log-jammed with five teams - Quad City, Wichita, Tulsa, Rapid City, and Missouri - separated by only 10 points. Tulsa's win on Friday, coupled with a loss by Rapid City, pushed the Oilers back into fourth place in the division with 24 games remaining.

DEFENSE FIRST

The Oilers gave up just a single goal in Friday's win over the Mallards, the first time in the last 12 games that Tulsa held its opponent to fewer than two goals. The Oilers are 10-3-1 when allowing two goals or fewer and improved to 12-5-4 in games decided by just one goal.

CASHING IN

Tulsa has scored a power play goal in three straight games and five of its last six contests. The Oilers have capitalized on 5-on-3 power plays in back-to-back games and rank 21st in the league in overall power play percentage with a 14.4-percent success rate.

SEE YOU IN MARCH

After tonight's tilt with the Mallards, the Oilers won't step back onto the BOK Center ice until Friday, March 13th against the Wichita Thunder. Over the next three weeks, the Oilers will play eight consecutive road games and pay a visit to every single team in the Central Division. The trek begins Monday afternoon in Brampton, Ontario as the Oilers play the first of two games in two days against the Beast.
