
Rays Trump Everblades 4-3

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays got two goals from Trent Campbell in his first game back after being called up to the Portland Pirates of the AHL, as the Rays beat the Florida Everblades 4-3 at the North Charleston Coliseum.
The Rays got the scoring underway early, as Pierre-Luc O'Brien got his 11th goal of the year at 1:28 of the period. The goal was assisted by Jeff Corey and Trent Campbell. After Danick Bouchard got a power play to tie up the game, Michael Dubuc took the lead for the Rays before the end of the period. After intercepting a pass, Dubuc brought the puck in the zone and backhanded it behind Anton Khudobin to make it 2-1.
The second period saw the Everblades tie up the game and take the lead. Mathieu Roy got his 15th goal of the year at 7:42 of the period to tie things up at two, and at the 16:04 mark, Ryan McGinnis gave the Blades their first lead of the night, at 3-2.
The third period belonged to the Rays and Campbell, as he tied the game up at three, just :41 seconds into the period. The goal came on the power play and was assisted by O'Brien and Dubuc. The Rays would take the lead less than three minutes later, on Campbell's second goal of the night, his 8th of the year. The goal came at 3:28 and was assisted by Jeff Corey and O'Brien. The Everblades pulled their goalie late in the game, but were unable to get past Stingrays goalie Jonathan Boutin.
The winning goaltender was Boutin who stopped 33 of the 36 shots he faced. The losing goaltender was Khudobin who stopped 34 of the 38 shots he faced. The Rays went 1-3 on the power play while killing off four of the six shorthanded situations they faced.
The Rays will be back tomorrow night when they play their final game of the season against the Florida Everblades at 7:05 P.M.
