
O'Keefe Wins Goalie Battle, 1-0

Elmira, NY- Mitch O'Keefe returned to the starting line up tonight with an 18 save shutout performance in the Jackals 1-0 win over the Johnstown Chiefs at First Arena. Pierre-Luc Faubert netted the games only goal early in the first period to give the Jackals their 25th win of the year in front of 3,205 fans.
The Jackals didn't wait long to score their only goal of the 60 minute contest. 4:11 into the opening frame Steve Yetman set up Travis Gawryletz who unleashed a one timer from the near blue line. Pierre-Luc Faubert was waiting on the back door step to tip the shot home for his 15th goal of the year.
The goaltenders then controlled the rest of the contest. Ian Keserich for Johnstown and Mitch O'Keefe for Elmira didn't allow a goal for the remainder of the game. Keserich ended the evening with 25 saves while O'Keefe brought home his second shutout of the season with 18 stops.
With the win the Jackals improve to 25-19-1-3 while the Chiefs fall to 26-17-2-0.
