Wheeling Nailers News Release
Chris Snavely scored two power-play goals and Curtis Darling turned away 30 shots in the Wheeling Nailers' 3-2 victory over the Dayton Bombers on Friday night at WesBanco Arena.
Tobias Holm put the Nailers up 1-0 34 seconds into the second period when he slammed home a rebound into a wide open net from just outside of the goal crease. It was Holm's 10th tally of the season. Matt Grennier and Andrew Lord assisted. The Nailers' lead did not last long, however, when Dayton's Justin Chwedoruk scored his 10th goal of the season on an assist from Christian Gaudel.
Dayton took its first lead in the contest at the 9:06 mark of the second period when center Christian Gaudet wristed a power-play shot past Nailers goalie Curtis Darling. The Nailers bounced right back, knotting the score at 2-all at the 13:12 mark of the second frame when Chris Snavely slapped in a goal from the blue line on a hard pass from Jordan Morrison. Erik Johnson was also credited for an assist on Snavely's goal
The Nailers refused to miss out on their second 2-man advantage of the night when Chris Snavely blasted in his second goal of the night from the blue line. Jordan Morrison and Elgin Reid were credited with the assists on what turned out to be the game-winner.
The Wheeling Nailers return to action tomorrow night when they face North Division foe Elmira at 8:05 p.m. at WesBanco Arena. The Nailers are giving away free U.S. Army Nailers camouflage hats to the first 2,500 fans in attendance tomorrow. To order tickets, call the Nailers at 304-234-GOAL or log on to wheelingnailers.com.
