February 6, 2009 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Cincinnati Cyclones forward Barret Ehgoetz underwent successful surgery to repair a lower body injury this afternoon. Dr. David Argo of Beacon Orthopaedics performed the procedure at Summit Woods. Ehgoetz is expected to be sidelined for the next four to six weeks. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.

Ehgoetz, 27, a native of Kincardine, Ontario, was the last player to play every game for the Cyclones in 2008-09. Barret was injured in a faceoff battle with a Reading player on Tuesday night. He did not return to the game after that play.

For the season, Ehgoetz ranks eighth in the ECHL with 47 points on 18 goals and 29 assists. Barret was selected to the 2009 ECHL All-Star Game and had a pair of assists in the 11-5 win for the American Conference. The captain of the Cyclones holds the club record for career assists (99) and shorthanded goals (five), is second in games played (153), shots on goal (455) and in plus/minus (+45). He ranks third in career goals (54) and power play goals (eight).

"Barret is going to be missed," Head Coach Chuck Weber said. "This is an opportunity for players on this team to step forward as leaders on the ice and in the locker room.."

Cyclones forward Jimmy Kilpatrick was loaned to the Houston Aeros (AHL) on Wednesday, taking away Cincinnati's top two point producers for tonight's game against Mississippi.

Cincinnati is currently the leader of the North Division with a 25-16-5 record. The club begins a six game southern road trip tonight at Mississippi (8pm ET faceoff). The game will be carried on MAX-FM (97.7 and 99.5) with the pregame show starting at 7:45pm.

Tickets for the 2008-09 Cincinnati Cyclones season are now on sale. The Cyclones Sales Department can be reached at 513-421-PUCK, extension 3. The Cyclones host the Dayton Bombers on February 20 and 21 for 7:30pm clashes both nights. The club is now offering Family Four Packs (four tickets, four hot dogs, four Pepsis, four Cyclones winter hats, four public skate passes at SportsPlus and a SportsPlus game card) for just $69!
