The Stingrays dropped a 5-1 decision in Charlotte Thursday evening against the Checkers. Chris Chaput pocketed the only Stingrays goal, while newly-acquired defenseman Rory Rawlyk earned an assist in his South Carolina debut. Texas, in the midst of a six-game road trip, led 3-2 after two periods before exploding for five goals en route to an 8-4 win over Columbia last night.
