Scott Parse Assigned By Manchester To Reading

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Scott Parse ["PAHRS"] (6'1"/185) (22) has been assigned by the Monarchs to the Royals. In a separate transaction, forward Kevin Saurette, who was on loan to the Binghamton Senators of the AHL, has been returned to Reading. Also today, the Royals placed forward Malcolm MacMillan on the three-day injured reserve and Matt Herneisen on the seven-day injured reserve.

Parse, who hails from Kalamazoo, Michigan, and is in his first full season of pro hockey, has registered an assist in five games with the Monarchs this year. Last season, Parse, a sixth round pick of the Los Angeles Kings in 2004, played ten regular season games with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL, scoring two goals and assisting on five others (seven points), after completing his senior season at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. During his four year career at UNO, Parse scored seventy-nine goals and assisted on 118 others (197 points) in 159 total games to become the school's all-time leading scorer. A four year team MVP at UNO, Parse was a Hobey Baker Award (top NCAA hockey player) finalist in his junior and senior seasons. Saurette, who has scored eight goals and assisted on twelve others (twenty points) in twenty-nine games with the Royals this season, played three games during this stint with Binghamton and did not register a point.

The Royals return to action tonight (Saturday, February 9; 7:05 pm), when the Elmira Jackals visit the Sovereign Center. Tonight, the Royals host "Ladies Night," and the first 1500 ladies 21 years of age and older will receive a cosmetic case courtesy of Mike's Hard Lemonade and All-Star Distributing. The game night broadcast on Saturday will begin at 6:35 pm with the pre-game warm-up show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata, as well as on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com. Streaming video is available on a pay per view basis through the B2 Networks.
