San Antonio Rampage News Release
LAST WEEK IN REVIEW
Rampage Update: The Rampage went 1-2-0-0 this week in three games in as many nights. Friday's home game against Rochester resulted in a 4-3 loss, despite even scoring over each period. Gregory Campbell, Matt Dzieduszycki and Eric Beaudoin scored for the Rampage, holding a tie until late in the third making the Rampage 2-2-1-0 in their last five home-stands. On the road in Cincinnati, San Antonio claimed an immediate 5-4 win in overtime on Saturday. Following scores by Josh Olson and Beaudoin, Vaclav Nedorost locked his second goal of the game to satisfy the win, giving goalie Simon Lajeunesse his first gain of the season. On Sunday, rookie defenseman Michel Periard scored a power-play goal at 10:15 in the third period to tie the game at 2-2 before Cincinnati's Joffrey Lupul scored a natural hat trick in just 4:01 after being reassigned by Anaheim on Friday.
Florida Panthers Update: The Panthers pulled away from the week 1-1-2-0, marking the Panther's eighth home victory of the season, matching last year's total for the entire season. In Monday's 4-4 overtime tie against Toronto, four different Panthers scored goals and captain Olli Jokinen tallied two assists. Robert Luongo stopped 34 shots and added an assist for the team improving 4-1-4-1 in their last 10 home games. Florida's six-game home unbeaten streak was halted with a 2-1 loss to Philadelphia on Friday. Continuing on the home front, the Cats blanked Columbus 1-0 on Saturday. Luongo's stops on all 42 goal attempts supported the game's lone goal by Stephen Weiss. Florida will head on the road in an attempt to reclaim Philadelphia on Thursday, traveling to Calgary and Vancouver late in the week on Saturday and Sunday.
