Griffins to Conduct Practice in Holland

WHAT: Grand Rapids Griffins Caravan in Holland, Mich.

WHERE: The Edge Ice Arena - 4444 N. Holland Avenue

WHEN: Wednesday, Jan. 7 from 6-7:30 p.m.

* Hockey fans in Holland, Zeeland, Grand Haven, Saugatuck and communities throughout Ottawa and Allegan counties will have a unique opportunity to watch a Griffins practice and meet the players and coaches.

* The Griffins will conduct a practice session from 6-7 p.m. that is free and open to the public. From 7-7:30, the Griffins will skate with local youth hockey players and sign autographs for fans.

* Griff, the team mascot, will be on hand, and Griffins rosters, schedules and ticket information will be available.

* The event marks the fourth consecutive year that the Griffins will hold a public practice session outside of the Grand Rapids metro area, following an inaugural event at The Edge in Oct. 2000 and subsequent practices at Ferris State University in Big Rapids (Nov. 2001) and Michigan State University in East Lansing (Oct. 2002).

DIRECTIONS:

* From I-196, take exit 55 (Zeeland) and head west toward Holland

* In Holland, turn right (north) onto US 31

* Approx. two miles north of Holland, turn right onto Ransom

* The Edge is located ¼ mile on the left
