The Amerks will play two games against the Moose (15-17-5-1, 36 points), the first on Friday and the second on Sunday. This two game set with be the third and fourth meetings between the two clubs this season. The Moose and Amerks split the first two games they have played this season. On December 6th, Norm Milley, Derek Roy and Pete Gardiner each scored a goal and Ryan Miller made 21 saves to give the Amerks a 3-1 win in Manitoba. The Moose have been led by forward Brandon Reid with 30 points (9+21) so far this season. Goaltender Tyler Moss (9-10-4) has a 2.47 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage to lead the Moose in goal. The team is currently 10th in the AHL in goals-per game (2.66), but is 18th in the AHL in goals against, giving up 2.71 per game. The team has the AHL's 19th ranked power play unit, with an 13.8% success rate (28 for 203). The Moose are ranked 22nd in penalty killing with an 84.2% rate (175 of 203).

Rochester Americans at Syracuse Crunch

The Amerks will travel to Syracuse for a key divisional game on Saturday against the Crunch (15-11-5-2, 37 points). The season series is tied at 2-2-0-0, with both teams capturing wins on their home ice. The Amerks picked up a 4-2 win at The Blue Cross Arena on December 28th. Overall, this will be the 105th time the Crunch and Amerks have faced each other. The Amerks lead the all-time series with a 52-39-13 record. Forward Donald MacLean leads Syracuse in scoring with 29 points (11+18) this season. Goaltenders Pascal LeClaire and Karl Goehring have been solid in goal for the Crunch. LeClaire has a 2.36 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage. Goehring has posted a 2.27 GAA and a .924 save percentage. Syracuse currently owns the AHL's fourth best power-play unit at 17.4%, going 29 for 167. The Syracuse penalty-killing unit is 20th in the league with an 84.6% success rate, giving up 28 goals on 182 opportunities. Overall, the team is averaging 2.64 goals per game, which is good for the 11th spot in the league.

· The Amerks have dropped to fifth defensively in the AHL, allowing 2.26 goals per game, but are now 22nd in goal scoring averaging 2.34 goals per game. The team has both the league's eighth best power play unit with a 15.5% (29 for 187) and penalty-killing unit with an 87.5% success rate (147 for 168). The Amerks own the league's top penalty killing unit on home ice with a 92.9% success rate (79 for 85). The Amerks are 12-4-2-0 on home ice this season and 5-6-3-3 away from The Blue Cross Arena. · · Amerks Head Coach Randy Cunneyworth is three wins away from surpassing Brian McCutcheon (128) for third place on the team's all-time coaching wins list. John Van Boxmeer tops the list with 333 wins, followed by Joe Crozier with 260. ·
Amerks Pass Plates Instead of Pucks at CF Dinner: The Rochester Americans will be serving plates instead of pucks at the annual 2004 Amerks Celebrity Waiter Dinner & Sports Memorabilia Auction, to be held on Tuesday, February 24th at 5:30 p.m. at The Clarion Riverside Hotel in downtown Rochester. Amerk players will serve guests their food and drinks for tips, with all proceeds benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Rochester. The tipping does not stop after dinner, as players perform antics and tricks with their guests and fellow players for more money. Great sports memorabilia items from the National Hockey League will highlight the auction. Items includes authentic autographed jerseys from Rochester native and New Jersey Devil Brian Gionta, and former Amerk and current Chicago Blackhawk player Scott Nichol. There will also be game-worn jerseys from the Amerks, Knighthawks, Rhinos and Rattlers. Donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Rochester will fund on-going, groundbreaking medical research aimed at curing and controlling cystic fibrosis. MORGAN STANLEY "3-Star Investment Award": The Rochester Americans and Morgan Stanley will team up to bring a yearlong promotion to the fans at the Blue Cross Arena. The Morgan Stanley "3-Star investment Award" will be given to the player that accumulates the most points during the 2003-04 season. Through 19 home games, forward Derek Roy (13 points) leads forward Jason Pominville (12 points) and goaltender Ryan Miller (11 points) with the most three star nominations. The winner of the award will receive two round trip tickets to anywhere in the continental United States, courtesy of Morgan Stanley.
