Roadrunners Travel to St. John's This Week

The Toronto Roadrunners make their first ever visit to Mile One Stadium this week as they take on the St. John's Maple Leafs in back-to-back games on Friday, January 9th and Saturday, January 10th.

The Roadrunners played four games last week, and earned a record of 2-1-1-0. The Roadrunners recorded victories over the Hamilton Bulldogs on Tuesday, December 30th (3-1), and the Chicago Wolves on Sunday, January 4th (5-4). Toronto was defeated by the St. John's Maple Leafs on Friday, January 2nd (4-2), and skated to a 2-2 tie with the Bulldogs on Saturday, January 3rd.

Hinz Records 100th Career AHL Point

Roadrunners forward Chad Hinz recorded his 100th career AHL point on Sunday, January 4th, when he scored in the second period. It was the two hundred and seventy-second game of his American Hockey League Career.

Roadrunners Set Franchise Records for Fastest Goals

The Toronto Roadrunners set three franchise records for fastest goals scored in their game against the Chicago Wolves on Sunday, January 4th at the Ricoh Coliseum. The records were set over a span of 3:33 in the second period. The Roadrunners scored two goals in 34 seconds, three goals in 1:03, and four goals in 3:33, all of which set new franchise records.

Salmelainen Off to Hot Start in New Year

Roadrunners forward Tony Salmelainen recorded at least one point in each of his first three games of 2004. On January 2nd against St. John's in a 4-2 loss, Salmelainen had two goals. The next day, he recorded one assist against his former team, the Hamilton Bulldogs (2-2 tie). On Sunday, January 4th, Salmelainen recorded one goal and one assist, and was named the game's first star in a 5-2 win over Chicago.
