San Antonio Rampage News Release

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Rampage (8-6-0-0) got an overtime tally from Drew Shore to beat the Charlotte Checkers (4-7-1-0) 2-1 Friday night at the AT&T Center.

Andrew Yogan scored his second of the season to kick off the scoring for the Rampage. Joe Basaraba dumped the puck into the San Antonio zone, and goalie Drew MacIntyre came out to play the puck behind the net. Yogan stormed in, picking the puck off the board and wrapping it around and into the empty net. With the assist, Basaraba recorded his first AHL point.

After a fast-paced but scoreless second period, the Checkers tied the game at one in the third with a Justin Shugg power-play goal. Shugg took a cross-ice pass from Michal Jordan and had a wide open net, as Dan Ellis was one his way back to the near-side pipe.

That sent the game to overtime for the second time in as many games for the Silver and Black. With the Rampage on a power play, Drew Shore ripped a shot on a breakaway with just under four minutes remaining to secure the win for San Antonio.

The Rampage were outshot 31-17 in the game, marking just the second time this season the Silver and Black have been outshot by their opponent. The Rampage finished with one goal on three power play opportunities.
