
Columbus Blue Jackets Assign Anton Forsberg to Springfield Falcons

Springfield, Mass. - The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky off Injured Reserve and assigned goaltender Anton Forsberg to the Springfield Falcons, Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Bobrovsky, who missed the past seven games after suffering a fractured finger in practice on Oct. 27, has posted a 4-4-0 record with a 2.81 goals-against average and .908 save percentage in eight games this season. He has appeared in 187 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and Philadelphia Flyers, going 99-58-21 with a 2.47 goals-against average, .918 save percentage and nine shutouts.
The 26-year-old native of Novokuznetsk, Russia went 32-20-5 with a 2.38 goals-against average, .923 save percentage and five shutouts in 58 games during the 2013-14 season, setting career highs in wins and shutouts, and becoming the second goaltender in club history to post 30-plus wins in a season. In his first season as a Blue Jacket, he went 21-11-6 with a 2.00 goals-against average, .932 save percentage and four shutouts in 38 outings and won the 2013 Vezina Trophy as the NHL's top netminder.
Forsberg, 21, made his NHL debut Nov. 1 at New Jersey, recording 26 saves in a 3-2 loss to the Devils and has posted a 0-1-0 record with a 5.30 goals-against average and .841 save percentage in two games. He is also 1-2-0 with a 2.36 goals-against average and .921 save percentage in three games with Springfield this season, stopping 82-of-89 shots faced. The Harnosand, Sweden native is 4-2-0 with a 1.69 goals-against average and .940 save percentage in seven career AHL games since making his North American professional debut with the Falcons late in the 2013-14 season.
Forsberg is expected to be available for the Nov. 15 contest against the Worcester Sharks.
