Rockford IceHogs News Release

Rockford, Ill. - In order for the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs (10-2-0-1) to keep their winning streak alive, they will have to find a way to break a different streak on Friday as they host the Milwaukee Admirals (8-3-0-0) at the BMO Harris Bank Center, in the first leg of a home-and-home series.

The first 2,500 fans to the 7 p.m. face-off will receive an IceHogs cowbell courtesy of BMO Harris Bank. Those 21-and-over with tickets to the game can also partake in the first Blues Flame Lounge Pre-Game Party, which begins at 5:15 p.m. Tickets are available online at IceHogs.com, in person at the BMO Harris Bank center box office or at any Ticketmaster location, or by phone at 815-968-5222.

Those unable to attend Friday's game can watch live online through AHL Live or locally on 23.2 Antenna TV, beginning with IceHogs Warm Up airing at 6:30 p.m.

The IceHogs are suffering a six-game losing streak to their neighboring rivals heading into the this weekend's two-game set, including a 3-2 defeat in their last meeting on opening night. Rockford's last win against Milwaukee came in a 4-1 home triumph on Feb. 22, 2014.

However, the IceHogs have a little bit more momentum this weekend than they did back on Oct. 11, as they are rolling on an AHL-franchise record eight-game winning streak, which has catapulted them to the top of the Midwest Division standings. Rockford is also rested, as their last action came in a 3-1 win over Grand Rapids last Saturday at the BMO.

The IceHogs were able to take down the Griffins in large part to the performance of Mark McNeill. McNeill tallied a natural hat trick, capping off a huge six-goal week for the second-year forward which helped him win CCM/AHL Player of the Week honors for Week 5. After 13 games, McNeill leads all Rockford players with nine goals and 15 points.

Milwaukee started their season on an impressive streak of their own, winning each of their first six contests. They have cooled off as of late, and enter Rockford sitting in third place in the top-heavy Midwest Divsion, five points behind of the IceHogs. The Admirals are on the heels of a 3-2 home loss to the Iowa Wild on Wednesday.

On the scoresheet the Admirals are led by winger Brendan Leipsic, who paces all AHL rookies with 11 assists, and center Austin Watson, who has eight points (5g-3a) in 11 games played. Marek Mazanec has assumed most of the work in goal, carding a 5-3-0 record with a .911 save percentage and a 2.50 goals against average.

Next Home Game: Sunday, Nov. 16 vs. Texas Stars. Game starts at 4 p.m. The IceHogs round out their first three-in-three set of the season as they host the defending Calder Cup Champion Texas Stars at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Fans can stay after the game's conclusion to take the ice with their favorite players in another rendition of "Skate With the Hogs".
