Hudon Lifts Bulldogs Past IceCaps, 2-1

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Hamilton Bulldogs forward Charles Hudon scored first and last on Friday evening in St. John's to lift the 'Dogs (5-7-2-0) to a 2-1 overtime win over the St. John's IceCaps (4-8-4-1) at Mile One Centre.
Left all alone in front of the St. John's net, Hudon received a pass from forward Rene Bourque and buried his third goal of the season just 1:13 into the opening frame to start the scoring. Forward T.J. Hensick had a second assist on the play.
IceCaps forward John Albert tied the game 1-1 off a rebound with just 11 seconds to go in the second period. Forward Austen Brassard and defenceman Keaton Ellerby had assists.
After a scoreless third period, Hudon lifted the 'Dogs to victory 1:45 into overtime with a wrist shot just under the St. John's cross bar for his fourth goal of 2014-15. Forward Eric Tangradi had the only assist.
Mike Condon ma de 27 saves on 28 shots for the Bulldogs in the win, while Connor Hellebuyck stopped 40 of 42 shots faced for the IceCaps in the loss.
Hamilton went 0-for-3 on the power play, while St. John's was 0-for-2 with a man advantage.

The 'Dogs will be back in action on Sunday, Nov. 16 when they'll host the Rochester Americans at FirstOntario Centre at 3 p.m.
