SAN ANTONIO (December 14, 2013) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed goaltender Rob Madore to an AHL contract. In addition, the Rampage have recalled forward John McFarland from the club's ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones, and loaned forward Jack Combs to Cincinnati.

Most recently, Madore played in one game with both Binghamton (AHL) and Charlotte (AHL), allowing only two goals in each start but taking the loss in both contests. The 5-foot-10, 176-pound netminder split time last year with the Evansville Icemen (ECHL), the Florida Everblades (ECHL) and the Charlotte Checkers in his rookie campaign. Prior to turning pro, Madore played four years (2008-12) at the University of Vermont and finished his career ranked second all-time in saves (3,352) for the Catamounts, behind only current Florida Panthers netminder Tim Thomas.

McFarland, 21, is tied for second on the Cyclones with 13 points (eight goals, five assists) in 20 games. The second-year pro suited up in 43 games for the Rampage last season and recorded five goals and nine assists. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound winger also played 23 games in Cincinnati last year and recorded 12 goals and 13 assists. McFarland was with the Cyclones for their Kelly Cup Playoff run, as well, and tallied four goals and five assists in 12 games. A second-round pick (33rd overall) of the Florida Panthers in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, McFarland spent four seasons (2008-12) in the Ontario Hockey League, recording a total of 190 points on 90 goals and 100 assists in 220 games.

Combs, 25, has recorded two assists through 16 games with the Rampage. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound winger scored 12 goals and added seven assists in 18 games last season with the Silver and Black. He split the majority of the 2012-13 campaign between the Colorado Eagles (ECHL) and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers before joining the Rampage in March. In 27 games with Colorado, he posted 42 points (19 goals, 23 assists) and registered five goals and nine assists with Bridgeport. Combs began his career with the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League and went on to play four seasons with the Saginaw Spirit before turning pro, racking up 235 points (96 goals, 139 assists) in 298 games (2004-09).
