Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Nick D'Agostino's first professional goal, scored on the power play, allowed the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to wrestle a 1-0 win away from the Utica Comets at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. Eric Hartzell also registered his second shutout of the season, making 22 saves in the game.

Midway through the third period, the Penguins found themselves with back-to-back power play opportunities. D'Agostino would finally break the scoreless tie at 12:02 when he sailed a wrist shot from the center blueline that found a path past Comets netminder Joe Cannata thanks to a screen set by Tom Kostopoulos.

For the second time this season, Hartzell made sure the lone goal stood up as the game-winner as he also recorded a 1-0 shutout against the Binghamton Senators on Nov. 29. With the win, Hartzell raised his record to 4-1-0. On the other side of the ice, Cannata made 17 saves on 18 shots for Utica.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton went 1-for-6 on the power play and killed all four Utica man-advantages.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will look to extend their winning-streak when they host the Worcester Sharks next Friday at 7:05 p.m. Catch all the action on the Sports Hub 102 or on AHL Live.
