
Rampage receive Eric Chouinard from Coyotes

SAN ANTONIO (Dec. 28, 2005) - The Phoenix Coyotes, the NHL affiliate of the San Antonio Rampage, today announced that they have acquired center Eric Chouinard from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for center Kiel McLeod.
Chouinard, 25, has been assigned to the Rampage and will join the team in Cleveland where they will play against the Cleveland Barons Thursday at the Quicken Loans Arena at 6:05 p.m. ET.
Chouinard registered 14 points (7-7-14) and four penalty minutes (PIM) in 24 games with the Philadelphia Phantoms (AHL) this season, ranking second on the team in goals and fourth in points. Chouinard has also played in one game with the Flyers this season and collected two PIM.
The 6-3, 207-pound native of Atlanta, Georgia has registered 50-63-113 and 44 PIM in 170 AHL games during his career. In 90 career NHL games, Chouinard has recorded 11-11-22 and 16 PIM with Montreal, Philadelphia, and Minnesota. Chouinard was selected by Montreal in the first round (16th overall) in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
McLeod recorded 0-1-1 and 33 PIM in 28 games with San Antonio this season. McLeod, who will turn 23 on Friday, has collected 20-24-44 and 211 PIM in 178 AHL games over his three-year pro career. The Coyotes signed the 6-6, 230-pound native of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta as a free agent on June 9, 2003. McLeod was selected by Columbus in the second round (53rd overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, but did not sign with the club.
