Peoria, IL (December 28, 2005) - St. Louis Blues Senior Vice-president and General Manager Larry Pleau announced today that the club has recalled left wing Peter Sejna (SAY-nuh) from its American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen. Pleau also announced the reassignment of forward Lee Stempniak from the Blues to the Rivermen.

Sejna, 26, now ranks first on the Rivermen and fifth in the AHL with 39 points (15 goals, 24 assists) in 29 games. The 5-9, 197-pound left wing was named the CCM Vector/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending October 9 after he scored four goals and added three assists when the Rivermen began their inaugural AHL season with a 3-0-0-0 record. A native of Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia, Sejna has previously skated in two games with the Blues this season, recording one goal and one assist.

Stempniak, 22, returns to the Rivermen after having spent the last half of October in Peoria. Between October 11 and October 31, the West Seneca, New York, product appeared in seven games with the Rivermen and recorded two goals, two assists, 10 penalty minutes, and 16 shots. The 6-0, 195-pound right wing has played in 24 games for the Blues so far this season, collecting three goals, four assists, 10 penalty minutes, and 27 shots.

The Rivermen are a proud new member of the AHL. Founded in 1936, the AHL now serves as the primary development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams and is celebrating its 70th anniversary season in 2005-06.
