
Bears acquire Colin Forbes from Lowell, host Albany tonight

HERSHEY - The HERSHEY BEARS have announced today in conjunction with the NHL's Washington Capitals that left wing Colin Forbes has been acquired by the NHL club from the Carolina Hurricanes/Lowell Lock Monsters in exchange for forward Stephen Peat. The announcement came today from BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst and Capitals VP/General Manager George McPhee.
Forbes, who played for HERSHEY during the 1995-96 season, scored 27 goals and assisted on 37 others for 64 points last season with Lowell. He also ranked fourth in the AHL in 2004-05 in plus/minus with a +32 rating. Forbes this season ranked second on the Lowell roster in scoring at the time of the trade, scoring 10 goals and assisting on 18 others. He is expected to be available for HERSHEY'S game this evening with the Albany River Rats at 7:00 p.m. Forbes will wear number 7 for the BEARS, his number he previously wore with the club.
"We are thrilled to welcome Colin back into our organization," said BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst. "We had a chance to acquire someone that brings a great scoring touch along with leadership and character, and we're confident with Colin that we've upgraded our club."
The BEARS also announced today that defenseman Deryk Engelland and left wing Robin Gomez have been recalled from South Carolina (ECHL). Engelland had three goals and 11 assists for 14 points at the time of recall. Gomez had scored eight goals and accumulated 67 penalty minutes for the Stingrays prior to today's recall.
HERSHEY will face the Albany River Rats tonight at 7:00 p.m. and the Philadelphia Phantoms this Saturday night at GIANT Center. Tickets are available for both games at (717) 508-BEAR, or by visiting the GIANT Center box office. Fewer than 1,000 tickets remain for tonight's home game with the River Rats.
