San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (December 19, 2013) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has recalled from loan rookie forward Wade Megan from the team's ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones.
Megan, 23, is currently fourth in the ECHL with a total of 13 goals through 16 games this season. He leads all Cyclones skaters in goals (13) and points (20). The rookie forward started the season on a seven-game point streak and was named the ECHL Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 3 after tallying six goals and three assists in three games. Megan signed an amateur tryout contract with the Rampage on March 28 and finished the year with the Silver and Black, tallying one goal in 13 games.
The Canton, N.Y. native was recalled on Nov. 17, and spent four games with the Rampage adding one assist before being returned to Cincinnati on Dec. 2.
Prior to signing in San Antonio, Megan completed his senior year at Boston University (2012-13) where he scored 29 points (16 goals, 13 assists) in 38 games while serving as the captain of the club. The Panthers fifth-round (138th overall) selection in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft tallied 83 points in 151 career games at Boston University.
The Rampage will face off against the Milwaukee Admirals on Friday (Dec. 20) before completing their three-game road trip on Saturday (Dec. 21) against the Iowa Wild. The Silver and Black return home to the AT&T Center for the first of a home-and-home with the Texas Stars on Friday, Dec. 27, which falls on a KZEP / Bud Light Dollar Drink Night and will feature $1 draft beers and soda during the game. Tickets can be purchased by calling a Rampage representative at 210-444-5554 or online at sarampage.com.
