
Wild Shut Out Bulldogs 3-0

Des Moines, IA - The Iowa Wild (11-13-2-0, 24 points) defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs (12-14-0-3, 27 points) 3-0 in front of 5,816 fans at the Wells Fargo Arena on Friday night. Iowa goalie Darcy Kuemper (7-10-0) stopped all 44 shots, including 17 in the first period, to earn his first shutout of the season. Wild forward Tyler Graovac picked up a pair of assists, helping his club extend its points streak to five games (3-0-2-0). Iowa forwards Jason Zucker, Stephane Veilleux, and Carson McMillan each scored in the win. Bulldogs goalie Mike Condon (0-1-0) stopped 24 shots in the loss. Iowa continues a six-game homestand on Saturday with a 7:05 p.m. meeting against San Antonio.
The Wild opened the scoring at 3:12 of the second period with a goal by Jason Zucker, giving the club a 1-0 lead. The Iowa forward pounded in a rebound off a Tyler Graovac shot, beating Hamilton goalie Mike Condon. Iowa defenseman Steven Kampfer also picked up an assist on Zucker's eighth goal of the season.
Forward Stephane Veilleux added the team's second goal at 9:44 of the third period, giving the club a 2-0 lead. The forward fired a wrist shot from the left wing circle for his third goal of the season. Iowa defensemen Jon Landry and Jonathon Blum each picked up an assist on the play. The Wild increased the lead to 3-0 nearly five minutes later after a goal by forward Carson McMillan. The Iowa forward snapped a wrist shot from the left-wing circle, beating Mike Condon on the blocker side and scoring his fourth goal of the year. Graovac and defenseman Kyle Medvec each had an assist on the game's final goal.
Iowa continues a six-game homestand with San Antonio on Saturday, Dec. 21, and Rockford on Thursday, Dec. 26. Saturday's game is Salvation Army Night, where fans may drop donations with Kettle Bearers. The game also features kids who participated in the team's *Wild About Reading* program. During next Thursday's game, fans are encouraged to sport an Ugly Holiday Sweater.
