
RailRiders Have Four Elected to Triple-A All-Star Game

Moosic, Pa. - The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/ New York Yankees) are excited to announce that four players were elected to the 29th Annual Sonic Automotive Triple-A All-Star Game on July 13th in Charlotte, N.C. Catcher Gary Sanchez, outfielders Ben Gamel and Aaron Judge and pitcher Chad Green will represent SWB on the International League squad during the Mid-Summer Classic at BB&T Ballpark.
SWB led the IL with four of the 13 elected players by vote of field managers and general managers, media ballots and online fan voting.
Outfielder Aaron Judge was named the IL Batter of the Week for June 20-26. He paces the circuit with 16 home runs, including four in his last six games. He is tied for fourth with 46 RBI and sits third with 31 extra-base hits, second in runs scored (49) and second with 140 total bases. Through 74 games with SWB, he owns a .266 batting average and a .490 slugging percentage. In the month of June, Judge has hit .337 through 26 games with nine homers, 21 RBI, 19 walks and 22 strikeouts. His on-base percentage for the month is .462 and he carries a robust 1.156 OPS.
Catcher Gary Sanchez is tied with Judge for fourth in the IL with a .490 slugging percentage. He is second on the team with eight home runs and 32 RBI. He owns a .280 average through 49 games and an .812 OPS. Sanchez had an impressive month of May, owning a .358 average in 16 games with nine extra-base hits and a .989 OPS.
Right-hander Chad Green is coming off a scoreless outing at Syracuse on Monday, June 27. He has spun 17 consecutive shutout frames and owns the IL's lowest ERA at 1.54. Green also boasts the second-lowest WHIP (0.98). He has allowed 19 runs across 81.2 innings (14 starts) this season and has 82 strikeouts against 19 walks. His six victories pace the RailRiders. Green made his Major League debut on May 16 and has appeared in two games with New York.
The 2015 IL Rookie of the Year, outfielder Ben Gamel has followed an outstanding campaign with another strong season. Through 65 games, Gamel has hit .293, tallied 18 extra-base hits and leads SWB with 12 stolen bases. Through 25 games in June, the Jacksonville, Fla., native has slashed .343/.425/.457/.882 with three triples and 12 RBI.
The squad of 30 IL standouts will take on the Pacific Coast League's best in the 29th Annual Sonic Automotive Triple-A All-Star Game, presented by Gildan, on July 13 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The matchup will be broadcast live from BB&T Ballpark on MLB Network, American Forces Network, MiLB.TV, and the Triple-A All-Star Game Radio Network beginning at 7:00 p.m. EST.
The RailRiders return home for a seven-game homestand starting on the Fourth of July against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Philadelphia Phillies). The game includes post-game fireworks presented by the PA Lottery; foam light-up sticks to the first 2,500 fans through the gates thanks to ShurSave Supermarkets; USA-themed jerseys worn by the RailRiders; and Fourth-of-July hats worn by the team that will be auctioned off during the game.
