
Jermaine Curtis Named International League All-Star

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Jermaine Curtis has been selected as a 2016 International League All-Star, the league announced Wednesday. The Bats' infielder enters play Wednesday batting .285 with a team-leading 36 RBI and was the lone All-Star selected from Louisville. Curtis and the International League All-Stars will square off with the Pacific Coast League All-Stars in the 29th Annual Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 13 at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, NC. Curtis, 28, played collegiately at UCLA and is a Fotana, CA resident.
Curtis was named the International League Player of the Month for April leading the league hitting (.385), RBI (18) and on-base percentage (.515) in the opening month of the season. Along with leading the team in RBI, he is first in OBP (.406), second in home runs (6), and tied for second in hits (57). He is also third in OPS (.826) and runs (25). Curtis also spent the 2015 season with the Bats hitting .273 in 73 games. He made his Major League debut in 2013 with the St. Louis Cardinals, appearing in five games, but has yet to record his first Major League hit.
The Annual Sonic Automotive Triple-A All-Star Game will be broadcast live from BB&T Ballpark on MLB Network, the American Forces Network, MiLB.TV, and the Triple-A All-Star Game Radio Network beginning at 7:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday July 13.
