The International League today announced that AUDRY PÉREZ will represent Norfolk and the International League in the Triple-A All-Star Game.

Pérez has hit .307 with five home runs, nine doubles and 26 RBI in 53 games for the Tides this season. He's just three plate appearances shy of qualifying among the IL leaders, where his .307 average would rank 6th in the league. Pérez has batted .370 in 28 appearances on the road, and he's thrown out 25.5 % of attempted basestealers this season.

Pérez, 27, was acquired by Baltimore in a trade with Colorado on March 31, 2015, and he re-signed with Baltimore as a minor league free agent on November 24, 2015. A native of the Dominican Republic, he was originally signed by St. Louis as a non-drafted free agent on March 20, 2008.

Pérez is the fourth Tides catcher to make an IL All-Star team since Norfolk became an Orioles affiliate in 2007, joining Steve Clevenger (2015), Omir Santos (2008) and J.R. House (2007).

The squad of 30 IL standouts will take on the Pacific Coast League's best in the 29th Annual Sonic Automotive Triple-A All-Star Game, presented by Gildan, on July 13 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The matchup will be broadcast live from BB&T Ballpark on MLB Network, American Forces Network, MiLB.tv and the Triple-A All-Star Game Radio Network beginning at 7:00 pm EST.
