
Plutko Carries Clippers over IronPigs

Columbus righty Adam Plutko (2-1) was dominant on Tuesday night at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, PA., guiding the Clippers (42-37) to a 1-0 victory over Lehigh Valley (45-34) in front of an audience of 6,795.
The 24-year-old tossed seven innings of scoreless baseball, allowing just three hits, walking a batter and striking out five.
Plutko's opposition in James Russell (2-4) had a solid outing as well, allowing an unearned run on five hits while punching out three in seven innings of work.
Jesus Aguilar's RBI single in the sixth inning broke the scoreless tie, plating Erik Gonzalez from second base.
The RBI was "The Boss'" team leading 43rd of the season.
Ben Heller earned his fourth save of the campaign in working a scoreless ninth frame.
Having won five out of six contests against the IronPigs this season, the Clippers will look to complete the three game sweep tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. Columbus will send their ace in righty Mike Clevinger (7-0, 2.81 ERA) against fellow right-hander David Buchanan (4-4, 4.54 ERA) for Lehigh Valley.
