
Querecuto's Walk-Off Blast Leads Bats over Saints

LOUISVILLE, KY - Juniel Querecuto hit a pinch-hit, two-run, walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Louisville Bats a 10-9 win over the St. Paul Saints Saturday night at Louisville Slugger Field.
The Bats got on the board quickly in the bottom of the first inning. Isiah Gilliam reached on a one-out single and stole second base. With two outs, Colin Moran doubled off the top of the wall in left field to score Gilliam and give Louisville a 1-0 lead.
In the second inning, Ronnie Dawson launched a two-run opposite field home run to extend the Bats' advantage to 3-0. It was Dawson's sixth home run of the season.
St. Paul answered back with a run in the top of the third inning on Michael Helman's RBI single. John Andreoli hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to cut the Saints' deficit to 3-2.
Dawson led off the bottom of the seventh inning with his second home run of the ballgame. The Bats added three more runs in the inning on RBIs from Cristian Santana and Moran as well as a wild pitch.
Trailing 7-2, St. Paul battled back scoring four runs in the top of the eighth inning to bring it to a one-run game. Then in the ninth inning, Jake Cave's sacrifice fly scored Andreoli and tied the game at 7-7.
In the top of the 10th inning, Curtis Terry's RBI double gave the Saints an 8-7 lead. Roy Morales followed with an RBI single to make it 9-7.
Then in the bottom of the 10th, Dawson drove in his fourth run of the game with a two-out RBI single. Querecuto then lined a walk-off, two-run blast over the fence in right field to give Louisville a wild 10-9 victory.
The Bats and Saints will play the finale of their six-game series Sunday afternoon at Louisville Slugger Field. Justin Nicolino (1-3, 6.75 ERA) will start for Louisville, opposing Dereck Rodríguez (5-2, 4.98 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. ET.
