
Plassmeyer Strong in Ironpigs' Victory

Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
(Allentown, PA) - Michael Plassmeyer turned in his longest outing of the season as he guided the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (45-38) to a 9-1 win over the Rochester Red Wings (43-40) on Saturday evening. He turned in 6 1/3 scoreless innings and struck out five batters while giving up just three hits.
The IronPigs took a 3-0 lead against Sterling Sharp (1-4) in the bottom of the first inning. Dustin Peterson hit an RBI double that scored Johan Camargo and Josh Ockimey hit a two-run single that scored Donny Sands and Peterson. The 'Pigs scored two more runs against Sharp in the bottom of the sixth inning as Scott Kingery hit a two-run single that scored Sands and Ockimey to give Lehigh Valley a 5-0 lead.
Ryan Sherriff entered with one out in the top of the seventh inning. Taylor Gushue hit an RBI single that scored Jake Noll and cut Lehigh Valley's lead to 5-1. The IronPigs extended their lead to 9-1 againts Jefry Rodriguez and Luis Avilan. Camargo scored on a bases loaded walk then Jorge Bonifacio hit an RBI single to score Sands. Kingery followed up with an RBI single to score Peterson and Ockimey scored on a bases loaded walk.
Braeden Ogle and James Dykstra each pitched a scoreless inning in relief to close out the game for Lehigh Valley.
The IronPigs and Red Wings will finish their series on Sunday evening. First pitch at Coca-Cola Park is at 5:35 p.m.
