Bisons Game Notes - Buffalo vs. Syracuse (6:05 p.m.)

This evening, the Buffalo Bisons will match up against the Syracuse Mets for the sixth game in their seven-game series.

The Herd will look to carry the momentum from last night's victory against the Mets into today. After tomorrow the Bisons will travel to trip to Des Moines, IA to face the Iowa Cubs.

Last Game: BUF 6, SYR 1 The Herd picked up a victory last night against the Mets, winning 6-1. The Bisons set the tone early last night, as INF Otto Lopez hit a triple on the Bisons first at-bat of the game.

The Bisons would go on to score three runs in the first inning, two of them coming from a home run by OF Chavez Young.

The other three Buffalo runs came in the third frame courtesy of UTL L.J. Talley and his first career Triple-A homer.

Syracuse Mets (6-4) The Bisons are hosting the Syracuse Mets for the second and final series in Buffalo this season. With Buffalo leading the season series at 6-4, they look to remain ahead of the Mets in the 2022 campaign. The Herd will make their first trip to Syracuse for a six-game series starting August 9th.

Today's Starter: RHP Thomas Hatch RHP Thomas Hatch is set to make his 13th start for the Herd tonight when he takes the hill against the Mets. On the season, the Buffalo right hander is 4-4 with a 5.12 ERA in 63.1 innings pitched. Hatch will look to repeat his success from his last start against the Mets on May 21, where he didn't allow a single hit and struck out six Syracuse batters.

OF Chavez Young Last night, OF Chavez Young continued his success at the plate against the Mets, extending his hit streak to three games. Young was one-for-three which featured a two-run homer in the bottom of the first. He has now hit home runs in back-to-back games. Young also showed off his speed by swiping second base for the second night in a row.

Bisons Bullpen The pitching for the Bisons was superb last night, allowing only five hits and one run to the Mets. The five pitchers also combined to strike out ten Syracuse batters. The one run allowed was the first time the Bisons have allowed one run or less since June 26th.

Blue Jays Update The Blue Jays (45-40) lost the second of four games to the Mariners last night 5-2. The game went to 11 innings, and despite eight out of nine Blue Jays registering a hit, Toronto lost on a walk-off homer by the Seattle. RHP Alek Manoah will face-off against former Blue Jay and Cy Young winner LHP Robbie Ray as the Blue Jays will try to pick up their first win of the series in Seattle at 10:10 P.M.
