Abbotsford Heat News Release
The Flames took a 1-0 lead when Kyle Greentree rifled home the only goal of the opening frame at 10:19 of the period. The teams skated scoreless through the second period as Larsson turned aside 13 Flames shots while Quad City netminder Matt Keetley made nine saves including a flurry of fantastic stops in the final five minutes of the period.
The Griffins tied the game early in the third period when Ville Leino tucked home a rebound off a shot by Darren Haydar. Jamie Tardif earned the secondary assist on the power-play tally. The teams skated scoreless through the remainder of regulation and the overtime session.
In the shootout, the Griffins went three-for-three as Ville Leino, Mattias Ritola and Evan McGrath all scored while Larsson stopped all three shots he faced.
