Adirondack Phantoms News Release
PHILADELPHIA - The American Hockey League announced today that Phantoms center Jared Ross has been added to the PlanetUSA roster for the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Charter Communications, scheduled for this Sunday and Monday, January 25-26, at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass. Ross joins defenseman Danny Syvret, who was previously selected to the Canadian squad, in representing the Phantoms at the event.
Ross, 26, receives his second All-Star honor but will be appearing in the game for the first time. He was selected to the PlanetUSA squad last year but missed the game due to injury. Ross is in his fourth professional season and currently leads the Phantoms in goals (19) and plus/minus (plus-13) while ranking second in points (40) through 34 games this season. He was recently named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week after posting six goals and three assists in four Phantoms wins.
Last season, Ross led all Philadelphia scorers with 62 points (23g, 39a) in 67 games before adding nine points (5g, 4a) in 12 Calder Cup Playoff contests. The Huntsville, Ala., native shows 168 points (53g, 105a) in 225 career AHL games for the Phantoms and Chicago Wolves, and he made his NHL debut with the Flyers on Oct. 11, 2008.
The 2009 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Charter Communications takes place with Sunday night's AHL Skills Competition and Monday's AHL All-Star Game. The Skills Competition will be broadcast on tape-delay on Comcast SportsNet in the Delaware Valley at 11:00 Sunday night. The All-Star Game will be broadcast live on The Comcast Network (formerly CN8) on Monday night at 7:00 and will be re-broadcast on Comcast SportsNet on Thursday night at 7:00.
In an effort to say "thanks" to their fans for 13 seasons of loyal support, Comcast-Spectacor and the Philadelphia Phantoms are now offering $10 adult tickets for all remaining home games for the Phantoms final season at the Wachovia Spectrum. Thanks to a partnership with Babies 'R Us, all tickets for kids 14 and under are now $5. The prices are in effect beginning with tonight's game against Manchester at 7:05 and tomorrow's game against Lake Erie at 7:05, both at the Wachovia Spectrum.
