Goebel Reassigned To Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have reassigned forward Tommy Goebel to the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL, it was announced Friday morning. Goebel is expected join the team when the Nailers take on the Johnstown Chiefs tonight at the Wesbanco Arena at 7:05 pm.

Goebel, 24, played 14 games since he was recalled by the Penguins on December 9, 2008 recording eight points (4+4). The 5-7, 166 lb player from Parma, OH was signed by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton as a free agent on October 7, 2008. In his 20 games played with Wheeling, Goebel has had 10 goals and 17 assists.

Before his pro career, Goebel split his collegiate career between Ohio State and Michigan State, combining for 115 points in 147 games.

The Penguins return to action tonight when the take on the Hershey Bears at the Giant Center at 7:00 pm. To listen to the game tune in to 102.3 the mountain or visit ahllive.com.
