Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI--Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced today that national recording artist Darius Rucker will perform live in concert following the Admirals 4:00 pm game against the Hamilton Bulldogs on March 22nd at the Bradley Center.

"Darius Rucker has emerged as a country music superstar and we are very pleased to add him to our outstanding concert series for this season," said Greenberg. "His diverse musical talents and chart-topping hits should provide our fans with a great evening of entertainment."

This South Carolina native started his career in 1989 with Hootie and Blowfish and continued with the group until 2001 when he began his solo career. Starting with R&B, he made the journey to country music where he has recently found undaunted success. According to the New York Times, Rucker had "one of the year's most vibrant country albums" and Variety Magazine declared, "Country music has a new major star, and the genre may never be the same."

Rucker is also the lead singer for the Grammy-award-winning group Hootie and the Blowfish, and started down a country music path in early 2008. Since then he has released a #1 country album entitled "Learn to Live" and one of the singles from that album, "Don't Think I Don't Think About It", had a multi-week run at #1 on the Billboard Country Charts.

In addition, Rucker also made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2008, a major pinnacle in every country star's career
