Chaz Johnson And Shawn Weller Assigned To Elmira

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators loaned today right-winger Chaz Johnson to the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL. In addition, the Ottawa Senators reassigned today left-winger Shawn Weller from Binghamton to Elmira.

Johnson, 24, has one goal, two assists and 43 penalty minutes in 26 games with Binghamton this season. The Montreal, Que., native has missed the last 13 games for Binghamton with a back injury. Johnson scored 23 goals and added 24 assists for 47 points in 60 games with Elmira during the 2007-08 season.

Weller, 22, has two goals, five assists and 22 penalty minutes in 38 games with Binghamton this season. The Glens Falls, N.Y., scored the game-winning goal and added one assist for two points in Binghamton's 6-4 win over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Jan. 16. Weller was Ottawa's first third-round pick (77th overall) in the 2004 NHL entry draft.

The B-Sens (23-13-3-3, 52 pts.) head up I-88 to take on the Albany River Rats (17-21-3-2, 39 pts.) tonight at 7 p.m. Tune into 680 WINR-AM or 1430 WENE-AM 30 minutes before game time for Countdown to Faceoff with Grady Whittenburg, Voice of the B-Sens.
