
Pujols, Tobias Named South Atlantic League All-Stars

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Jose Pujols and Josh Tobias have been selected to participate and represent the BlueClaws in the 57th annual South Atlantic League All-Star Game on June 21st at Whitaker Bank Ballpark, home of the Lexington (KY) Legends.
All-Star Game rosters were announced on Tuesday by South Atlantic League president Eric Krupa.
Pujols will be the starting right fielder for the Northern Division All-Stars while Tobias will be a reserve second baseman. The two become the 54th and 55th players to represent the BlueClaws in the South Atlantic League All-Star Game.

Pujols, a 20-year old from Santo Domingo Este in the Dominican Republic, is the South Atlantic League leader with 10 home runs and is tied for fifth with 34 runs batted in. He has already more than doubled the four home runs he hit last year with Williamsport in the NY-Penn League. Pujols signed with the Phillies in 2012 and is the 24th ranked prospect in the system per MLB Pipeline.
Tobias, a 23 year old from Greensboro, North Carolina, is hitting .286 with five home runs, 32 runs batted in, and four stolen bases. He was the Phillies Minor League Hitter of the Month for April after hitting .347 and he has 14 multi-hit games, including a four-hit game in the home opener on April 14th. He was a 10th round pick of the Phillies last year from the University of Florida.
The first half of the season concludes on June 19th, with the All-Star Game two days later in Lexington.
