Rome Emperors News Release
Rome, GA - The Charleston Riverdogs took the second game of the series from the Rome Braves on Tuesday night 4-2 before a crowd of 2,018.
Rome jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning following a lead-off triple by Ray-Patrick Didder and later scored on Luke Dykstra's sacrifice fly. The next six frames were held scoreless. The Riverdogs took the lead in the eighth inning scoring three runs thanks to run scoring doubles by Connor Spencer and Audie Afenir making the score 3-1. Rome would cut the lead to one in the bottom of the inning with a run scoring on a wild pitch, but that is as close as they would get. Charleston added an insurance run in the ninth for the final score of 4-2.
Yefrey Ramirez (3-1) picks up his third win on the season while Rome's Oriel Caicedo (1-2) is charged with the loss. Rome starter Touki Toussaint went six innings giving up just two hits and striking out nine.
The Braves and Riverdogs conclude the series tomorrow at 1 p.m. For information contact the Rome Braves at 706-378-5144 or log onto www.romebraves.com.
